No joy I'm afraid, tho if I set the gateway level to 9 then they get
through, but then again so does most of the spam.

Try either of both of these:

1. Make sure the originating server's IP address is included in the
trusted network list. (Message Delivery / General tab / Add button)

2. Establish an SPF record on a DNS server that Exchange can query,
which specifies the sending machine as representative of your domain.

and especially this:

3. Sender ID filtering tab - specific Accept

You could also try whitelisting specific words in the subject or body,
as described in the release notes for SP2, but the last time I tested
that it was clearly broken for the whitelisting part (the blacklisting
worked fine).

Unfortunately, there is no way to whitelist a specific IP as "always
pass".

Subject: [exchangelist] IMF Question

Hi Guys

I have an application that sendssmtp mail through our exchange server.
It has been working well since it was installed but today I implemented
IMF on our Exchange 2003 SP2 server. The Domain is at 2003 level also.

The application resiides on an internal serverin the same network as
exchange, and sends emails out using a valid email address.

Every single email it sends is being picked up and blocked by IMF.

Is there anyway to whitelist this email address or the internal server's
ip???

The IMF settings are - gateway 7, junk 6

Thanks

Steve
