How to simply redirect email of disable account?

In the case of a user leaving and a new one starting, how do I simply
ensure that the email from the user leaving is redirected to the new
user?
Right now my solution is to add the email address(es) of the formder
user to the new user. I wonder if there isn't an easier method?
