If what you are referring to is a mailbox rule, then the mailbox would need to be open on the recipient's computer in order for the forwarding to take place. The exchange administrator allows it to be done on the server level, regardless of the client status. Why not simply set up a rule to forward directly to an external address? Why bugger about setting up a contact object when this is not necessary? I can think of several disadvantages to working this way but not a single advantage, am I missing something? > -----Original Message----- > From: Rosser, Richard (Exchange) > [mailto:richard.rosser@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: 26 June 2002 15:57 > To: [ExchangeList] > Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Forwarding emails > > > http://www.MSExchange.org/ - Re-Vamped! > > > I would setup a contact of sorts adding his external > email and then setup a rule with Outlook > > -----Original Message----- > From: Andrew Rogers [mailto:andrew.rogers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Wednesday, June 26, 2002 9:55 AM > To: [ExchangeList] > Subject: [exchangelist] Forwarding emails > > http://www.MSExchange.org/ - Re-Vamped!
