E-mail protocols were never designed to transport large files. It is the most inefficient way of transporting large data across the Internet. If you were to look at the stream and compare transit times between sending 10 MB via SMTP verses 10 MB via FTP or HTTP or HTTPS, you will see there is more overhead and it takes a lot longer. Why do you think Outlook Express has the option for breaking up messages over x size? (DO NOT USE THIS) Because e-mail was not meant to transport large files. Only with the wide spread availability of high speed access in the last couple of years have people tried to start using it for larger files. If you need to send large files, use FTP! The problem being that we cannot send any attachments that are 10Mb or more. I have looked at all of our settings and there appear to be no restrictions on the size for the email being sent out. The error reads: Microsoft Word The message being sent exceeds the message size established to this user. Any suggestion?
