I think what they were referring to is what's known as the "black hole" method. For reference, that's this: http://hellomate.typepad.com/exchange/2003/07/black_holes_not.html However, I don't think that's relevant in your situation. It sounds to me like the deleted user may have been a delegate on one of the other group member's mailboxes. I'd check that first (in Outlook, Tools / Options / Delegates, etc). What would his accomplish. The yser has been deleted from the system for almost 2 years. Are you suggesting I recreate this user? Btw, I've deleted and recreated all the groups this person Was a member of and that has not solved the problem. -Ron -----Original Message----- From: shoeb [mailto:shoeb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, February 12, 2004 12:53 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: FW: Deleted User wont go away http://www.MSExchange.org/ Simple procedure, follow this Create a distribution group in AD Add all the email address of your exemployee in that Best Regards Shoeb Senior Network Engg. (exchange 2000 SP3) Several weeks ago a regular user left the company And so the user and mailbox were deleted after 30 days Which is the normal policy. Whats happening now is that if you send and email or Book a meeting with the group this person was a member of You will get and ndr saying that the message could not be sent To the user that was deleted. I've searched high and low through active directory, outlook And system manager without finding a reference to this person, And yet this problem continues. Any ideas ? Thanks. -Ron Barnstable Information Systems. ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ ______________________________________________________ This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
