In this case I am not able to ignore the error.  Since the error appears in
the backup logs and the Backup Support staff have started ignoring the
backup logs because the staff are used to seeing "Job Failed".  This meant
that a device failure was ignored yesterday.

Given that the Exmerge procedure detected the messages but could not copy
them, do you think this procedure would?  I imagine that the process is
still a "copy", which may fail on the problem messages.

However, it seems that the exmerge *has* worked! 
In my previous post I mentioned that after disabling scanmail prior to
performing Exmerge/Archive the exmerge log did not report that the message
was copied, rather reporting that the messages could not be copied or that
the message could not be found.  

However, the backup log no longer reports the Corrupt File error any more.
This seems very odd, however, I will run with it for now. :)
