Can you telnet for an external source to your mail server name/ip address
port 25?

Subject: [exchangelist] Exchange newbie need help with server not
receiving mail due to possible internal DNS issue...

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Exchange 2k w/SP3 on w2k member server of w/sp3 AD w/AD Integrated DNS
home network.
I'm having what a problem getting my exchange server to receive internet
email. It was working at one point and then it just quit. I can send
email internally and out to the internet without a problem. If I attempt
to send mail to this server from an external account I get nothing. No
reply or errors stating that the mail was undeliverable.
In my DNS event logs I get the following:
Event ID: 409
The DNS server list of restricted IP interfaces contain IP addresses
that are not configured to use at the server computer.

I connect to the DNS server which is located on a separate DC and make
sure that the Interface tab contains the IP address of the DNS server
and the "Only the following IP address" option selected. I then stop and
restart the DNS server and the same error comes up.

This is based on Q326911
Can anyone advise me on how else to troubleshoot this issue? I've
already confirmed that my ISP isn't blocking port 25. I'm almost certain
that it's an internal DNS issue, but I can't seem to track it down as
everything appears to be set correctly.
I have an mx record created for this server: mailsrvr.mydomain.com

Any help is appreciated
