I think you would be better off reading the Ms article on securing OWA,
then see if it is still not working.

Hi George

Does take some understanding but basically, the virtual servers are part
of IIS and therefore need to be administered through IIS Admin. The
virtual directories are part of IIS also, but are administered through
ESM, under <server>\protocol\http\<virtual directory>\exchange (or
public).

My understanding (and this works for us) is that you need to have
anonymous authentication at virtual server level, and basic
authentication at directory level (assuming you have not implemented SSL
yet).

Call me crazy, but where will I find the Public directory. Everything
on the partition where Exchange is installed is set to Everyone - Full
Control.

http://www.MSExchange.org/

I have a user that is having a problem logging onto OWA on a Exchange
2000 Server.

They enter the address of OWA and the logon screen comes up asking for
the username, password, and domain. The user enters the information and
you see the OWA screen start to display and then it stops and the
authentication screen comes up again. The inforamtion gets entered
again and the authentication screen comes up again and again.

If you hit the cancel screen on the authentication screen after you have
authenticated once, the authentication screen goes away and the user
gets the error message that access is denied.

If you click on the address field, hilighting the OWA address, and hit
Enter OWA opens properly without asking for the user credentials again.

Any ideas why this is happening.
