I love this one:

"Don't piss off PSS."

There is nothing worse than suffering the wrath of a PSS person, especially
when they are telling you what to do :-)

Don't buy standard -- you'll upgrade to enterprise soon enough

Don't remove the first exchange server in the group until you've done
everything you are supposed to!

Look at your perfmon stats

Look at your db size

Use Deleted Item Retention

Don't do Brick Level Backups

Do backups

Use SSL for OWA

Don't relay

Use strong passwords

Upgrade to Exchange 2003 as soon as you can

Test your recovery process

Have written policies defining email usage for your organization

Have valid RDNS

Use Outlook 2003 and consolidate servers with Exchange 2003

Don't piss off PSS.

Buy software assurance.

:-)

Don't delete the (supposedly unneeded) log files, I love that question

OK guys and gals, here is your challenge for today, I am writing an article
at the moment about the does and don't with Exchange 2000/2003, such as,
Don't perform a file-level AV scan of the databases and logs, don't perform
offline backups etc etc

So, what are your favorite does and don'ts, I will make sure you are
mentioned in the article :-)

Thanks
