Hi Mike, in my point of view....if everyone want to see each others calendar tou can think seriously in deploying Microsoft sharepoint Portal. With this you create a personal area for each user with a public and a private zone. Users can publish their personal calendar in their public zone of the portal so the others could access to it. You have to be aware that installing sharepoint portal only to share calendars is like killing flyes with a gun, but it could be a good chance to study other benefits of this tool. http://www.microsoft.com/sharepoint/default.mspx http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx David Sierra Fernández sieferda@xxxxxxx JCYL Spain ________________________________ De: Mike French [mailto:mike.french@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Enviado el: jueves, 02 de marzo de 2006 3:43 Para: [ExchangeList] Asunto: [exchangelist] RE: Exchange Central Calendar Sharing http://www.MSExchange.org/ That's an interesting solution. Thanks for the link! I'll poke around on their site and see if this will be acceptable for my client. ________________________________ From: Ion Gott [mailto:Ion.Gott@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, March 01, 2006 6:34 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Exchange Central Calendar Sharing http://www.MSExchange.org/ In some cases I have had to configure a mail/security enabled distribution list that contains everyone in one particular branch office or division and the users end up adding that group to their calendar using MAPI permissions. I have also used a couple of permission management tools from Symprex and recently a tool called LOOK. http://www.symprex.com/products/look/ Regards, Ion <http://www.dyntek.com> ________________________________ From: David Iles [mailto:davei@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wed 3/1/2006 4:17 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Exchange Central Calendar Sharing http://www.MSExchange.org/ I agree, either way a shared calendar for 5 or more users........... That would make interesting reading (I don't think) ________________________________ From: Rich Gallo [mailto:RGallo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 02 March 2006 00:10 To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Exchange Central Calendar Sharing http://www.MSExchange.org/ Mike - Ummm...can you say "crazy users"? lol... I would tell them that if it's so important to view each others calendar (which is not really feasible, anyone else agree here, or am I nuts too??), just set up ONE central calendar for everyone to use in Public Folders. I mean, what do they want? A list of everyones name in their mailbox and that person's calendar underneath?? That can be set up but is not really practical and is actually quite silly (especially if you have a lot of users, how many do you have?), but that's just my opinion. Hope that helped a teeny bit! I have them configured to share in Outlook and of course this got someone thinking (Too much in my opinion). "We want a centralized area so we can view everyone's Outlook calendar!?!, Like a Public Folder area or something, Make it happen..." I doubt this is possible without a third party solution? I can give more depth if needed.... I might as well through this out there too: E-Mail disclaimers, apart from GFI anybody doing this? I'll check the archives next, I bet this has been covered before.....
