Hi John,

What we are looking to do, is take away email management from user, by having
a tool that does mail archiving just as you would do with pst files. We want a
software that would manage the process of archiving mails older that say
3months. We have found in the past that users can not suffciently manage their
mailbox, and constantly request mailbox size increase. Our usual reply is
"Archive your stuff". User end up archiving mail everywhere, and tracking them
down can be quite difficult.

I have currently got GFI MailArch V3.0 running, which works well, but does
not extract mails from user mailbox. The pricing we found to be very
attractive, but the solution not complete. I have also got quotes from the
likes of Zantaz and Enterprise vaults and Email Xtender by Emc, the prices are
well beyond our reach.

Hope you got more specifics now.

  Ta

  Dave

    Please be more specific.

If you are looking to archive e-mail from mail box in the IS to a PST file,
search the archives from last year or so for a post by me containing an example
script using exmerge.

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend an archiving solution, that can help manage pst file.
We are hoping for something not too expensive. We have had a look at the like
of Zantaz, Enterprise Vault, and Email Xtender. These are all expensive
options. GFI MailArchiver does not do the job the way we want.

Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Dave
