Unlikely.

Is the restore generating a log file of any description?

But, it is. Can it be that the Exchange 5.5 server is a Pentium II 400
box?

There's no way a restore of a single mail box should take 260+ hours.

yes, I was doing "brick level" backups. Using that tape to do the
restore. Not sure how big the mailbox use, but > 1.2 Gig. The size of
the mailbox keeps getting bigger as the restore goes on.

Um, exactly how big was this mailbox and/or database? Were you doing
"brick" backups?

Even allowing for a really, really slow backup system, 260+ hours is a
little over the top for a restore... Is this from tape? If so, how
many times have you had to change the media?

Perhaps you should investigate whether something is messed up with the
restore.

Does anyone know when doing a mailbox restore in Exchange 5.5 if the
oldest items get restored first. Or do the newest items get restored
first.

I am restoring a mailbox that got accidentally deleted and it has been
running for 260+ hours.
