UDP and TCP port 53 is used by DNS.

The only port that you would need to have open for your Exchange server to
send and receive mail via the Internet would be port 25 (SMTP), you would
also need to make sure you have the ports needed to perform DNS name
resolution for outgoing mail.

Hi everyone,

I've read the following article on MS Knowledge base : 280132 that
describes how to make connections to an MS Exchange 2000 server sitting on
a DMZ.

What I'm actually looking for is what ports do I need to open up on my
firewall so my exchange 2k server can send and receive mail through the
internet?
