But will i have outside Outlook clients be able to access my Exchange
server?

I mean, do i need to open RPC ports (135, 2101-3, others?)? Isnt it
dangerous?

This would be the same situation for an SBS2000 box.

You will have to configure packet filters for port 25 (inbound/outbound)
on ISA, and perhaps port 110 if you want to support external POP3 users.

As for OWA on this box follow Q290113 and Q238131 How to Disable Socket
Pooling.

Hi ppl.

Im going to have to deal with a tricky situation and id appreciate any
insight u might give me.

The scenario is this. I have 2 W2k Servers. SRV1 is the file server, DC,
DNS, DHCP. SRV2 will be ISA and Exchange. I dont want Exchange to be
vying
for power with all the other stuff on SRV1 but this will force me to
have
SRV2 inside the domain, and so ISA will be inside the domain. I know,
not
great for security! My internet access is by an ADSL router which will
be in
a crossover connection with one nic on SRV2 (ISA). Concurrent users are
currently 40!

So what problems will i have with ISA and Exchange in the same SRV ?

I've read that it is not recommend to have both on same server. Why ?
How
can i overcome these problems?

And OWA. Do i need all those ports open or can i have just 80 and let
Exchange be a kind of proxy for any requests needed?

I know, things can be worked out with more servers but budget is a
serious
constraint! As always!

Should i rethink this any other way?
Tell me your thoughts. Thx!

Jose Silva
