Only one is giving this problem. How can I make this server use Kerberos. ________________________________________ From: Mulnick, Al [mailto:Al.Mulnick@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 5:09 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: Event ID: 1000 EXPROXY on 2003 FE Server http://www.MSExchange.org/ Looks like you're configured to use NTLM auth. Is that not expected? How much longer before you upgrade to E2K3 on the BE servers? ________________________________________ From: Harding, Devon [mailto:dharding@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 2:32 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Event ID: 1000 EXPROXY on 2003 FE Server http://www.MSExchange.org/ I've just upgraded my Exchange 2000 FE server to Windows 2003/Exchange 2003. My BE servers are all Exchange 2000 still. I'm now getting this error in my App Log on the FE server and cannot figure out why. Can someone shed some light on this? Event Type: Warning Event Source: EXPROX Event Category: None Event ID: 1000 Date: 8/25/2004 Time: 1:32:51 PM User: N/A Computer: WEBMAIL Description: Microsoft Exchange Server has detected that NTLM-based authentication is presently being used between this server and server 'EXCH1'. NTLM is still a secure authentication mechanism and protects users' credentials. However, this indicates that there may be a configuration issue preventing the use of Kerberos authentication. If this condition persists, please verify that server 'EXCH1' is properly configured to use Kerberos authentication. After applying any changes it may be necessary to restart Internet Information Services on both the front-end and back-end servers.
