From what I can tell, those DNS 'errors' from dnsstuff are of the benign variety. I don't understand what could be the problem with my internal DNS. It works fine. You think I need an internal MX record for this server as well? I also implemented this for an Event ID 7010 and 7004: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;818222 Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeTransport Event Category: SMTP Protocol Event ID: 7010 Date: 4/5/2005 Time: 1:47:59 PM User: N/A Computer: MSNY03 Description: This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #30. The client at "207.122.19.68" sent a "xexch50" command, and the SMTP server responded with "504 Need to authenticate first ". The full command sent was "xexch50 976 2". This will probably cause the connection to fail. -Jason -----Original Message----- From: John Tolmachoff (Lists) [mailto:johnlist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, April 05, 2005 1:54 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] RE: E2003. mail now not sending at all http://www.MSExchange.org/ I never said you were or are an open relay. Why are you regretting Windows Server 2003 SP1? Sounds like you have internal DNS problems as well.
