Hello Tom,

you should never use dynamic disks except for making raid through windows (soft raid).

Having dynamic disk is a pain: your server sign it. Then another cannot use it until it replace the signature.

Dynamic disk is NOT compatible with MSCS Cluster and SAN snapshot.

If you have a san, you won't use windows raid, so you don't need dynamic raid.

If you are deploying Exchange on a SAN(Clariion), does it matter if you use Basic or Dynamic disks?

Is one better than the other?

If so, why?

I can't seem to find any info on using dynamic disks with Exchange(except that it won't work for the shared storage on a cluster).

Any info would be great.

Thanks alot
