Hi Greg, That article was BS -- .net has nothing to do with .com. Total, unrequited BS. I was absolutely shocked that article made it through Windows IT Pro magazine tech editors. They really flubbed the dub big time on that one. Use that article as an example of someone who really doesn't know which end eats. Its not much good for anything else. They are dirt cheap. ive seen once where a company used a .com .net for internal and external domains. the problem was the .net was not registered and then their parent company in the US went and registered it. Created a few minor hassles at the time. Personally i don't see the need to keep them the same, I'd always prefer to keep them separate. I know it can be done easily but there is no real reason why to or not too as far as I am concerned. In the past I have set up with the correct dns "domain".com name. Also I plan to implement rpc over http will a .local create any issues. There is a existing win2k server with exchange 2000. I plan to keep the existing win2k dns server but remove the 2000 exchange and add a new 2003 server with exchange 2003 Thanks Jeff ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: johnlist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Report abuse to info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: greg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Report abuse to info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp ------------------------------------------------------ Visit TechGenix.com for more information about our other sites: http://www.techgenix.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Report abuse to info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
