#1) I haven't seen a way like you describe since the domain is external to
you and you don't know the actual name of the sender.

#2) Sending as another user or group can be done. You would send it the same
way you would for mailboxes. Create the alternate from address as the
primary address on a different mailbox or DG and grant the send as right to
the list owner. The list owner would then have to specify that they are
sending as that user vs. themselves.

Subject: [exchangelist] Distribution Group Questions

I have two questions about exchange distribution groups.

1. Is there a way to restrict who can send to a distribution group based on
an external email domain. In other words I want to accept messages from
* but reject all others. * is an external domain with
to do with my exchange organization.

2. Is there a way to alter the envelope from address when a message is sent
from a list. I want the owner to be person@xxxxxxxxxxxx so they can manage
the list but I would like the envelope from address to be
list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxx where list-owner is something I can pick.
