DCOM was unable to communicate with our smarthost?

Once and awhile I see this error message in the event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DCOM
Event Category: None
Event ID: 10009
Date: 6/29/2004
Time: 8:45:47 PM
User: MAIL\ourbigbadadminaccount
Computer: EXCHANGE
Description:
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer mx1.oursmarthost.com
using any of the configured protocols.

mx1.oursmarthost.com is our SmartHost specified in our SMTP settings.
Exchange Server 2003 we are using.
