I've done it, it wasn't terribly difficult. Modifying the client
registry is clunkiest part of the process, and even that isn't too bad.
We did it to allow access to an application that used mapi calls to send
e-mail using an existing profile. Worked as expected, but then I didn't
get into all the nitty gritty details.

I'm not sure what the differences are with regards to Outlook 2003
