I agree with Al that it's likely a client issue. In my experience, Outlook's relationship to 3rd party products and other Office tools has been the source of a number of issues. Synchronization tools such as Intellisync utilize Outlook's MAPI and can sometimes cause glitches. Outlook's default reliance on MS Word likewise has caused problems, so changing the default to Outlook's editor can help. Then there's IE. Since MS in it's infinite wisdom has woven IE deeply into almost all it's other products, especially Office, things that affect IE can affect Outlook. Check for spyware, trojans, etc. that could be hooking into IE. As a workaround, you could use the Office resource kit to create a copy of her profile, put it on the network, and when she has problems, use a command line such as outlook.exe /importprf s:\profiles\outlookfix.prf to start Outlook and pull in a fresh profile. Something like a third-party app that is dependent on Outlook for something. Besides the version of Outlook being upgraded to cover any known issues, it would be good to check out what is installed, what it's used for, and how it differs from the others that don't corrupt. Look for something that is holding or otherwise relying on the profile itself, particularly any home-grown apps that read the registry for profile information. In E2K if the DC goes down to which the exchange server has a secure channel then the stores will quite often dismount. However, for one particular user, whenever this happens or there is an interuption to the connection to the exchange server perhaps network, then her profile becomes corrupt. All she gets is to be able to work offline. As far as I am aware this is the only time I have ever seen this and it is not happening to anyone else. The client is Outlook 2000 What I am after is ultimately the answer to my fault. But what I would also really appreciate is information on the hows and whys of Outlook Profile corruption. Thanks.
