Somehow the Exchange computer account was corrupted. We are not sure how this happened yet. This caused several other problems. We deleted the computer account from the DC and then added it again. Rebooted the Exchange server and found that the System Attendant would not start. (major problem!) We were receiving several errors in the Event Log. We finally gave in and called Microsoft. They didn't have a clue what the problem was. We sent them our Event Log and then started doing some research while waiting for them to get back with us. We found several article listing the event errors that we were getting. We ran Domain Prep from the CD and we think that this combined with doing what other articles suggested was what ultimately fixed the problem. Microsoft called us back and they still had no answer. We rebooted after making the changes and it worked. I am now very concerned about what caused this to happen. I have listed the KB articles that we used below. It would be easier for you to look at them instead of trying to write it all out. Let me know what you find out.
