No, you don't need to change the LDAP port numbers, its only required if you want 5.5 to run on a DC, as Exchange 5.5 has its own DS that uses port 389 this would conflict with the LDAP port on the DC. Once thing I'm not clear about in what you said: running Exchagne 5.5 on domain controller. My Exchange 5.5 will only be connected via ADC, and won't be run on a domain controller. It's already in it's old domain and will remain there and just connected via ADC. Do I still have to change the LDAP port? If so, can I change it now and it will still continue to work fine in the old domain? Or do I have to wait and change the port until the last minute? Thanks, Jared --- Mark Fugatt <mark@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > http://www.MSExchange.org/ > > Jared > > You need to change the LDAP port number on the > Exchange 5.5 server only if > it will be running on a Windows 2000 Domain > Controller, here is a link that > explains how to change the port number: > http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312501 > > Hope this helps > > Mark Fugatt > MCT, MCSE, Microsoft Exchange MVP > Pentech Office Solutions Inc > Tel: 585 586 3890 > Cell: 585 576 4750 > Fax: 585 249 0316 > www.4mcts.com > www.exchangetrainer.com > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jared Johnson [mailto:jaredsjazz@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Monday, June 23, 2003 12:38 PM > To: [ExchangeList] > > http://www.MSExchange.org/ > > Hi All, > > I'm migrating from Exchange 5.5 NT domain to W2K AD > new domain.
