Thing is; the browse button is faded out and won't let me use it.

Chris, you do not need to dismount any database, if you want to change the 
default public store, press the browse button and locate it in the place 
that you want, you will get a warning that will tell you that the stores 
will be dismounted during this process and then it will mounted again 
automatically.
