Chris, you do not need to dismount any database, if you want to change the default public store, press the browse button and locate it in the place that you want, you will get a warning that will tell you that the stores will be dismounted during this process and then it will mounted again automatically.

Subject: [exchangelist] Change Default Public Store
Date: Wed, 20 Nov 2002 10:44:42 -0800

Hello all,

I am moving my Exchange 2000 server to a new box. I have been following the popular "Ed Crowley Move Server Method" and mostly has gone pretty good.

I am at the point where I need to change the default public store via general tab of the mailbox store. This option is greyed out to me and I cannot change it.

Do I need to dismount the store? I have never done so and am wary of unkown implications.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
