Have you tried going onto an Active Directory Server go to the Users and
computers, and manage the Server remotely? have a look at the event
viewer to see if it gives any hints about what is happening.
Just my 2c worth.

Unfortunately I did not install Terminal Services when I installed the
operating system on this server.  Thanks for the idea though.
