Andrea, did you check this info?:

XCON: Message Generates NDR When Sent to a Windows NT Server 4.0

HI Julio,

This appeared to me the bulls-eye on the problem. I was following
Q316886
to migrate, and when I got to the part 'Install ADC and Configure a
Two-Way
ADC CA', I played the Exch know-all and installed a one-way CA (Exch to
Windows), since I didn't want ADC to mess up my existing (and working)
Exch
5.5 configuration.

Bad bad bad me....

I have now switched it to a 2-way CA. I also chose Replicate Now, but
the
messages still bounce... Damn, I'm starting to think exchange has given
up
trying and is just sending back an NDR whenever I send a mail, purely
out of
laziness...

Andrea, the user CA configured in ADC is set as two way? Normally during
migration the CA is configured one-way from 5.5 to 2000, this updates
5.5
info into AD. If you are going to coexist for a while you will also need
to
update AD changes concerning Exchange info into the Directory Service of
5.5

Where? I used ADC to 'link' the 5.5 mailboxes to the already migrated
users on 2k domain, then installed exchange 2k on the 2k domain.
Mailboxes
moved across using the 'move mailbox' menu item. No errors reported.

Andy

I always seem to find a solution the minute I post a problem I have in
this
forum, so here is my next problem.... Bouncing messages between 5.5 and
2K
within the same site.

My mailbox is on the 2k server. When I try to send an e-mail to a
mailbox
on the 5.5 server, I get the following error:

---------------------
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the
message to
bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients.

Any ideas?
