Account synchronising

Hi All

I am running  Exhange 5.5 Enterprise Edition SP4 on Windows
2000 Server SP4 (member server). It is in a NT4 domain.
Passwords are configured to expire every 30 days.

When users that log in via VPN are forced to change their
passwords, this change in password doesn't seem to register
in Exhange. Therefore, after the password change, the user
is unable to connect to his/her mailbox and must physically
connect to the LAN in order to rectify the problem. (The
solution currently in place is to disable password
expiration for VPN users. This obviously causes a security

Is there anyone else who experienced a similar problem or
know how to get around this?
