The matter is that standart edition of E2K is limited with 16gb information
store database. If you want to use larger bases and/or multiply storage you
should use Enterprise edition.

http://www.MSExchange.org/

Hi

we had the same problem (Ex2K) a few month ago. everybody will tell ya to do an
offline defrag with eseutil, BUT...there is a problem (in fact, we had a
problem):

our database was so big (16GB),that we coulnt mount the store, so i had to
delete some old (but really small) mailboxes. then i wanted to make this
offline defrag, but it seemed (<- is this the correct word for "seem" in the
past???) [by the way, sorry for my bad english] that offlinedefrag with eseutil
do not work correctly in the case that the DB is as big as it was (16GB). so we
had to set up a new store (in fact we had to set up a new exchangeserver, cuz
you cant make a new store when one store is as big as 16GB) and moved all
mailboxes in it. that worked for us. offline defrag with eseutil work, too. but
i´ve found out that it only work correctly when the database isnt that big.

Marco

Hi All,

I have one Exchange 5.5, its priv.edb is reaching its capacity.
Can any body tell me the safest way to compress the database size or a method
through which this problem can be solved.
ESEUTIL /d (Defargmentation) will it help? Is it safe to run on the existing
server?

Thanks & regards,

Rajnish Malik
