I had tried both and I liked much more the Backup Exec. In fact I'm using it on my whole network and never had problems with it. It's user friendly for all functions. I alsway disliked Arcserve because of the disparate interface design. Also, it's not that costly, you get it for around 500$ per component (server and agents). Also there's an SBS version which includes server and exch+sql agents for the same price. Should I just tell the client no way, get something else? If so, what? (That does not cost a fortune.) Another client uses Veritas Backup Exec and that seems to be doing a good job.
