If it's just a few accounts, you might consider exmerging the mailboxes
to a pst file, and then reinstall everything.
But I don't know if exmerge will work without a DC alive...

Having said that, you might possibly be able to build up a new domain,
install E2K3, and restore the database, then manually attaching
mailboxes to users. Possibly. I think. I've never tried it, but it
seems like there should be a way to make that work. This of course
assumes you have a good backup of Exchange.

I lost my only DC (bad mistake on my part to only have one) with a
hardware failure. My backups are bad as well. My exchange 2000 server
is installed on a seperate machine and is not accessible. Do I have any
options in moving this server to a new domain? My gut feel is NO. But I
thought that I would ask anyway. It's a very small system (my home
system) so that would explain why I don't have a recovery paln in place.
Any suggestions?
