What type of client is connecting to the E2K server? Outlook or Outlook Express? I have had the same problem with Outlook Express on a Macintosh (which doesn't log on to the W2K network). The solution was in the authentication of the email client. Check out article Q290808 from Microsoft. I think it's the one that helped me out. If this were the case, wouldn't we get the error every time we tried to send to an earthlink address? It happened Monday morning, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and about two hours in the afternoon yesterday. We have been fine all day today. I have never rebooted or stopped/started services to cause a change. It's transient. >From: "Mark Farrow" <mdfarrow@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Reply-To: "[ExchangeList]" <exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >To: "[ExchangeList]" <exchangelist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Subject: [exchangelist] RE: 5.7.1 unable to relay >Date: Thu, 5 Sep 2002 15:18:06 -0600 > >http://www.MSExchange.org/ > >Earthlink maintains it's own Black Hole List that applies to all their >domains (earthlink, netcom, mindspring, rmi, etc) If you have ever been >an Open Relay, try sending email (with the bounced message and you >mailserver ip and domain) to > >openrelay@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > >-----Original Message----- >From: KJ Demott [mailto:prjit@xxxxxxxxxxx] >Sent: Thursday, September 05, 2002 1:48 PM >To: [ExchangeList] >Subject: [exchangelist] 5.7.1 unable to relay > > >http://www.MSExchange.org/ > >I am running SBS2000 (Exchange 2000 sp3).
