This is more of an Outlook 2003 question but I've got an XP workstation running outlook 2003 connecting to an exchange 2007 server. The client gets the following error message - ""The file C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.ost is in use and could not be accessed. Close any application that is using the file, and then try again."
