Hey Dan,
Are you going to be at the meeting tonight? Dave talked Dolly into coming so
she is working not the baked good now.

Hi,
At our board meeting, Don Wrigley mentioned the possible site just south of
Florence Junction east of the highway near the railroad tracks. we stopped on
our way back from hike yesterday evening to check it out. This is the site
about 0.8 miles south of the Junction on highway 79 and about 0.8 east on a
dirt road from the highway. There is a gate at the highway. We were there
about 7:00PM. The cattle guard at the gate is dangerous even in daylight. In
the dusk/dark it was worse. The grating holes are large enough to easily put
your foot through trying to unstrap the gate to open and close it. Practically
I think operating this gate in the night after observing is a non-starter. We
drove through to the intersection with the railroad tracks. The fine dust was
thick and stayed suspended for a long time in the air. There was one RV along
the dirt road and at least 3 RV’s at the site where I presume the concrete pad
must be located. There were two large bonfires burning. And there was traffic
on the dirt road in the short time we were there kicking up more dust.
I could not recommend this site under the current or similar conditions. The
search continues….
