Hi Adele, First of all, this poll is seeking teachers' opinions, and I see nothing superfluous in seeking out teachers' opinions. The idea for the poll came as a result of the Jerusalem Post article, and the resulting discussion it generated over the ETNI list. The point is, according to the JPost article, that it was the Ministry that asked for book recommendations from teachers for the Literature Program for the Bagrut, and it was the Ministry that made this an issue by rejecting this book recommendation out of hand before it went to the committee, as it was supposed to. As Sally said to Harry - "You can't take it back, because it's already out there." Or, one might say, you can't have your cake and eat it too. By the way, for people who still do not realize this - this book was written in English. We are not talking about a translation. ETNI is not taking a position on this matter, one way or another. We simply believe that ETNI should serve as a platform that enables teachers to discuss all things that are relevant to the English teaching profession. And we will continue to do so. This poll, therefore, seems superfluous in my opinion. ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
