[etni] The widely misunderstood semi-formal letter

I've been a lurker on this list, but had a strong urge to "appear"to comment
about the semi-formal letter. As Ruth wrote, many here, (myself included) seem
to be confused about the meaning of and how to write a semi-formal letter;
hoping that those responsible might reconsider including such a letter as a
requirement in any test.
