In response to the quest for summer workbooks...
I really don't like the idea and most kids just postpone doing them till the
last second if at all. Summer is for fun.
Instead, suggest:
1. surfing the web IN ENGLISH and reading about topics they like
2. finding a good library book in English - no book report attached. Short
stories are easiest for "seeing the end" quickly!
3. watching films/TV in English without subtitles (or only peeking when you
need to!)
4. keep a diary in English - a few sentences a day in a plain or decorated
notebook - no one will mark their writing! (or see it!)
5. get an epal and correspond in English
Any other ideas?
