Subject: reaction to bagrut summer

I thought that G was very difficult - very "thinky" and I didn't like question 2 because the answer that I assume we were supposed to give (2 reasons why companies use personality tests) - is not really correct. The passage doesn't explain WHY they use the tests (... a reason would be something like the fact that it is cheaper than interviewing people F2F) - the passage tells to what purpose the companies put the results of the personality tests.

I thought D was very hard. I also thought the passage itself was quite strange. It didn't fall clearly into the genre of informative text, because it also had elements of an advertisement. And it was quite foreign to the world of the students.

One last comment - I think that the topics of the exam very often favor what we call "tsfoniim" - urban, well off kids. A lot of the topics are technological, or deal with new gadgets. I'm sure a lot of tsfoniim are familiar with DDR - whereas this device would be completely unfamiliar to a lot of other kids. There's a big difference between reading about a device you're already familiar with and one you have never seen.

Yours,

Sharon Tzur
