Subject: Condolences on the passing of Sheila Been
ETAI wishes to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Sheila
Been, a pioneer in the field of English teaching in Israel.
We cannot replace her, but her many achievements will remain with us!
Those of us who taught in the seventies and eighties fondly remember the
television programs, complete with melodies, for teaching English to Israeli
students. Sheila was one of those who wrote the programs, which were
groundbreaking at the time, and a generation of schoolchildren grew up with
those programs.
The Been family will be sitting shiva until Tuesday in Protea B'Kfar. They
