Subject: Organic Conference & Trade Show, Jan 23-26, Guelph,
plus transportation and related events, links & resources

Dear GoodWork Seeker,

The annual Guelph Organic Conference is an excellent
place to learn about a wide variety of healthy and
rewarding opportunities. There are lots of educational,
entrepreneurial, employment and volunteering
opportunities to be found -- or created. There's something
for just about every interest and skill set. Potential
opportunities include everything from gardening and
farming, to a myriad of roles in business and retail, to
popular education, to research and development, to
nonprofit work and activism, international development
work and more.

The Trade Show can be the best part -- and it's free. There
are over 120 tables to ask questions and make contacts.
Check out the diverse list of exhibitors on the conference
website and note down those that you don't want to miss.
Don't miss the enormous "Sustainable Living Books" show
and sale, on the lower level. Be sure to bring a pen, notepad
-- and your business cards or resume, if you have them.
Jot down your questions in advance... when you get to the
conference, ask around, find the right people, be brief and
to the point ...and see if you can find some great ideas and
leads.

If you want to make the most of your time at the conference,
it's a good idea to educate yourself beforehand and think
about any questions you'd like to ask -- by perusing the links
on our revised & expanded Organic Opportunity Directory
-- a free, non-profit service with no paid advertising:
http://www.planetfriendly.net/organic.html

And yes, it's a good idea to bring along at least a little
money. Admission to the Trade Show is free -- and there
is plenty of free networking and information. But there
is also a variety of products and services for sale that
you might have a hard time finding elsewhere: educational
materials, catalogues and sourcebooks; food and other
products; magazines and newsletters; memberships in a
variety of great organizations -- plus many hundreds of
inspiring yet hard-to-find books (on the lower level). The
list of exhibitors gives just a taste of the variety to be found:
http://www.guelphorganicconf.org/conference/tradeshow/

The Trade Show runs Saturday (7am-6pm, usually the
busier day) and Sunday (9am-4pm, usually the quieter day,
but might be easier to have more in-depth conversations).

Public transit can take you right to the University; links to
GO Bus and other schedules are included below. A brief
description & links to the conference website can be
found below.
