I've pretty-much given up on this. The sort-column coloring seems to be handled 
by gtk itself. I can't find anything which en/dis-ables that behaviour. It may 
be that the infrastructure used by e2 for the filelists (in particular, a 
GtkTreeModelSort) does not support re-coloring.
