disk usage of hidden files

Currently the du plug-in provides a message similar to the following:
total size: 1.793 gigabytes
in 2303 files and 144 directories (one or more are hidden)
-- end-of-output --
Would it be difficult for emel to provide a breakdown for the hidden
files, including the nr? Perhaps smth in the lines of
total size: 1.793 gigabytes (including 1.2 gigabytes in hidden files)
in 2303 files and 144 directories (including # of hidden files and #
of files in hidden dirs)
-- end-of-output --
My grief is that I would like to know what's the size of hidden files
in Home but I'm not sure on how to proceed.
