I couldn't find the parking lot and trail on the left (saw them on my way
back!), so I parked across from the orange gate a little further down Bear
Creek Rd.  Immediately heard a white-eyed vireo.  Other nice birds included
blue-grays, gray catbird, two common yellowthroats, four parulas (one above
my parked car), lots of chippies and ( of course) field sparrows.
White-throated sparrows were singing.  Along the road near there I heard
meadowlarks and a wood thrush.

I had a mystery bird - looked like a vireo with eye rings, but no song I
recognized. It did end on a higher note, but didn't sound like a warbling
vireo.
