Birding Friends,
My apologies for the late report on the regular 1st Saturday bird walk at
the Beaver lake Bird Sanctuary. It was cold - although not nearly as cold
as the January walk. And both the temperature and the birds warmed up as
the morning went on. 14 folks attended, including some on their first BLBS
walk. Welcome! We had a total of 27 species, up from the 11 on that
frigid day in January. One highlight was an excellent view of a perched
Red-shouldered Hawk. Thanks to Jay Wherley for co-leading and seeing so
many birds while I - as usual - talked.
