Hi All,
In preparation for the upcoming LOSH WG meeting in Nashville March 19-20, I
would like to compile state/province-level summaries/updates of any recent
shrike-related survey/research/banding/other work that you know of that may
have taken place in your state, or future plans to engage in some such
activity.
I’m not looking to take up a lot of your time, so just a sentence or two
would be sufficient (or more if you’d like), even if just to say that no work
has taken place since we last met. Information on challenges/needs would
also be welcome.
We did the same thing ahead of last year’s meeting (see attached) and found
it to be very useful. In addition to compiling responses, I will attempt to
categorize and summarize this information in a chart which I will briefly
present at this year’s meeting. This will take the place of having
individuals repeat information that they already submitted through
round-robin summaries at the meeting, and will leave more time for a group
discussion on the field project. If you would like to have your updates
included in the summary, please get me something by March 2 at the latest.
I’ve heard from a few of you already, but if you haven’t yet gotten back to
me on whether you plan on attending the meeting, please let me know as soon
as you can. Even if you are still going through a travel approval process,
you can always update me later if anything changes.
