Please see the attached protocol for feather mite collection from
Loggerhead Shrikes. Our goal is to use these mites as "biological tags" to
help delineate natural host populations (while also asking more academic,
but cool, questions about [co-]divergence of hosts and symbionts). There
are extra videos and photos embedded within the protocol, but I have also
included the link to the collection process below.

After exploring the protocols, please let me (and Than) know if: 1) you are
able to participate in/collect for the project, and 2) you have any
questions. Please also share the best mailing address for us to send you a
"kit" of essential mite-collection supplies (an address that you are
