When I wake up in the middle of the night I get these weird ideas.  Sometimes they even make sense.  I think this is a good one, but I'm not sure.  I thought about getting a small (4x6") photo printer to carry around with me at different places I shoot.  I spose they'd be sorta like a Polaroid thing where a guy could get an instant photo of hisself standing by his car...a race team having a few brewskies (or other adult beverages...I was kinda surprised to see a lady holding a martini glass at one event last year.  I guess I shouldn't say "surprised"...maybe just slightly unusual...maybe I'll do an album of strange stuff seen "on the scene"...what happens on the salt stays...well, not if I have my camera) after setting a record on the salt or just to use as advertising; a way of saying, "This is what I can do for you."

I'd like to find one that would do 3 things.

1.  Have a battery pack so I could carry it with me, probably in a backpack,

2.  Be able to print directly from the camera and

3.  Be able to put a watermark on if I chose.

So far none of the printers I've seen can do all of these things. particularly the last.  I know I could keep some sticky-backed business cards or labels and put on the back of 'em...so there are ways around some of the issues.

Polaroid DOES make something....but it only makes 2x3" prints.

PictBridge is another technology that might help:

Here's a Canon printer that seems like it could do some of the stuff:

It's battery powered, weighs 4.4 pounds and makes 4x6 images.  Might work.

Opinions solicited.

ps.  Jim can 'splain...we set some kind record for the amount of snow in a short time in last nites storm....4 inches in 45 minutes or something like that.
