That was the reason for the higher powered motor, slow push and very little chipping if any, you cant tell what side I cut most of the time, I have actually put the cut side to the middle a few times to have a finished edge at transition and no one could tell the difference. -----Original Message----- From: elky-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:elky-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Robert Adams Sent: Monday, February 01, 2010 11:28 AM To: elky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [elky] Re: Foyer tile update >I have one of the larger table saw style, basically bought the one with >the biggest motor because the table size doesn't make that much >difference- bigger is better but when using 20 inch tiles I know most are >not designed for that so it dodnt make too much diff. >It works great, never have used the breaker deals. Yeah I use the little $50 saw for cutting small tile as it's easy to transport. Can do up to 12x18 on it without too much trouble. For diagonals I gotta have a bridge saw. Also the bridge saws result in less chip out because the direction of the blade cut. The score/breakers work well on some kinds of tile and are fast and easily done in the room you are working but you gotta keep a good cutter in it and you will still end up with oops tiles.
