Hey John, Cool photos ... glad you shared 'em. I've been to one cruise night ... a Saturday night a few weeks ago that the Northern IL Street Rod Association has in South Elgin along Randall Rd..... Heh ... can you believe it is JULY and I still haven't seen you yet this year? LOL! You'd think we lived states apart instead of just "down the road".... The "Smash Hit" brush guard/"roo bar" was very different. About the salmon-colored convert, did ya mean the pink and black Cadillac Allante? (It looks more like Mary Kay pink than salmon to me, but you were there and I wasn't. so.....) As far as the UFO motor, was that in the 49/50 Ford Convert semi-radical kustom? Of so, it's like so many of the newfangled motors that are buried under plastic covers so ya can't actually see the motor. I dunno if this is an untapped market. Selling kustom kovers for Chargers, Vettes, Mustangs, etc. Put fancy logos or abstract designs or just flames on 'em...hell, if I thought of it, somebody else must have. Btw, did ya check out the dash on that car? Speedo and clock are the only instruments I could see. Decorative. Very decorative. :) My favorite was the 28/29 Model A Phaeton. Speakin of Model As, there's a 4dr 30/31 that seems to be haunting my life (some photos here: http://www.chevyasylum.com/temp4/ .) If it had been 10 years ago, I would already have it in my driveway (just to piss off the city "newthink" appearance nazis.) Thanks for the fotos. r Sent from my Dreadnought using that barely tolerable Thunderbird email program On 7/16/2010 6:22 AM, John Christensen wrote: I took off for the car show last night after work. There is one by the Court House in Geneva on Thursdays in July and August. Although it's small, there were some cool cars there. I particularly liked the Olds Dynamic 88 that was a magazine feature once upon a time, and the old truck with the aooogah horn bolted to the valve cover. Only one pic of my El Camino, but I got plenty. Great brush guard on the old Ford pickup (From Waco, Tx). Also, there was an old salmon and white convert I did not identify, with an also unidentified modern power plant. What a great car. Sorry for the double interior shot. All automated on the web photo gallery from photo shop. Zero editing. No time to put the pics up there, but I did it anyway. http://www.myelcamino.net/events.htm Top link on the page Enjoy, JC
